Total commitment to the quality of the university processes
A working session of the university staff took place in the afternoon of Friday, October 21st at lobby of Teaching building 4. Chaired by PhD Miriam Nicado García, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, the State Council and Rector of the University of Information Science (UCI). The meeting focused its analysis on the quality, seen from the university processes, first, and second from the view point of the external evaluation.
The Rector guided an analysis of the main outcomes of the course 2015-2016 related to teaching , production, university extension, research, postgraduate training, human resources and the situation of energy carriers.
Then the PhD Rosa Adela Gonzalez Noguera, director of the Center for Innovation and Quality of Education (CICE), presented the strategy for institutional accreditation. This process aims at public recognition of the quality of the institution and is made from a self-evaluation and an external evaluation by a group of experts from around the country.
This external evaluation, which is presided by the National Accreditation Board (JAN), the Ministry of Higher Education (MES), will be achieved with the great commitment of all members of the university community with the quality of all the university processes.
The Rector during the exchange called to continue working for the continuous improvement of the quality of the processes and referred to the results materialized by the UCI, upon reaching his 14th aniversary on 12 December, and the new stage that is coming in the 15th year of the University.
The occasion was also used to recognize several leaders of the University who studied different postgraduate courses for improvement with very good results in 2016. They were Aurelio Collado Antelo, director of the Center CIGED; Aldis Abreu Medina, director of the Center DATEC; Zulema Castro Ferrer, Director of Supervision and Control; Irina Brito Reyes, General Manager of Production and Antonio Hernandez Dominguez, director of the Center TLM.
Also received a certificate of recognition for having achieved outstanding results in his preparation as a leader in a postgraduate course at the National Defense College (CODEN) the PhD. Raydel Montesino Perurena, First Vice Rector of the University.
In this meeting there was a representation of leaders , teachers, scholars and students, along with the political and mass organizations.
