The Center for the Development of Industrial Informatics (Cedin), assigned to school 4, has the mission of developing products and services of industrial automation, with a high added value and that meets the needs and expectations of customers, enhancing specialized training and research.

To do this they offer services where they supervise and control industrial processes, and develop drivers of devices and embedded solutions with the prototype design and implementation of firmwares necessary for different devices of low cost.

Research is focused on the tools and embedded applications of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), data acquisition cards (DAQT), protocol converters, PIC and AVR microcontrollers, ARDUINO and Penguin platforms, as well as other core devices of processing of low range (Single Board Computer) as they are: the card CID 300/9, Raspberry Pi, ODROID and Android smartphones.

During this second week of the VI International Winter School at the University of Informatics Sciences, in parallel to these courses, Cedin conducted a training so that its specialists and students doing their professional practice at this center acquire relevant knowledge by combining the use of free software with hardware.

On this occasion they invited Ph.D. Carlos Omar González Morán, professor of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico, and the MSc. Carlos Escobar Zepeda, director of the Robotics Workshop of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of San Sebastián, Santiago de Chile, to discuss topics related to mechatronics, home automation and telemetry.
