The champion school in the general competitive emulation developed by FEU within the First Scientific Conference of the Engineer in Computer Science this academic year, started this morning the Annual General Meeting of its Student University Federation (FEU)
The welcome speech to more than 70 university leaders out of a mass of 826 students, was delivered by the Dean of the Introductory School of Computer Science (FICI), MSc., Reina Victoria Estrada Nelson, who invited the students to enrich the debate and integrate the experiences for the FEU legacy to the first year students in the coming academic course.
In addition, the FEU president at FICI, Luis M. Díaz Blanco, outlined the work of the commissions in the fields of ideology, organization, residence, instruction, research, culture, sports and recreation.
The debate highlighted, among other aspects, the students’ responsibility to study and not to be satisfied with obtaining just 3 points--the lowest passing grade; the importance of the selection of charismatic presidents, with leadership capacities to drive others in favor of the brigade was also pointed up, as well as the concern of FEU leaders, not only for academic affairs but also for interpersonal issues.
The FEU Annual General Meeting at FICI, which was dedicated to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, looks forwards to holding a plenary session this afternoon in School Building 6.
