In José Martí School Building at the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI), in the place where Vicente Rodríguez Bonachea's pictorial work "Cuando la muerte sedujo al Maestro" (When death seduced the Master) is exhibited, the winners of the Contest “Technologies Contributing to the Revolution” were awarded , as part of the Fidel Maestro-Martí Maestro Conference this Wednesday, January 23rd.

The main motivations of the meeting, held at the University’s well-known place to honour the Apostle, were the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution and the 166th anniversary of the birth of our National Hero, as well as the forthcoming vote for new Constitution of the Republic of Cuba.

Summoned to participate by the extension project “Connected to the future”, which is directed by Mayleidis López Fernández, head of the Software Engineering Department of School, and together with the José Martí honoring room, presided by Eng. Javier Anias Santos, Residence Director, there participated in the contest 168 UCI children of the Children's Nursery as well as pioneers of the Primary and Junior High School and of the School Protesta de Baraguá, located in the nearby town of Valle Grande.

The awards in the modalities of Drawing, Poetry and Storytelling, involved a variety of children's activity that included participation games, declamation of poems, dances and hidden treasures, among others.

They all received recognition gifts and diplomas. The first three places in each category were awarded (Primary: first and second cycles, and Junior High School).

Before concluding, and in front of José Martí's bust, the children expressed their feelings for the New Constitution, which has to do with their future: "On February 24, we will take care of the ballot boxes. Yes, for Cuba.”
