Opponent thinks that doctoral program of the UCI can aspire to Excellence

In order to know the criterion about the Scientific Council of the University of Informatics Sciences (known as UCI), whose doctoral program will soon be evaluated by the National Accreditation Board (JAN), we interview the Ph.D. in Technical Sciences Arelys Quintero Silverio, professor of the University Of Pinar del Río Brothers Saíz Montes de Oca.
Quintero Silverio is in our house of high studies as one of the Opponents of the doctoral thesis "Model for the diagnosis of bovine Fasciolosis", of its compatriot, Ing. Neilys González Benítez.
With an experience of several years of support to doctoral processes, the professor from Pinar del Rio says:
"We are of the opinion that the court of the University of Informatics Science is well prepared, the entire document was read. The process has passed as required by the rules, with all steps. The different proposals have been very successful to the applicant to improve the final document.
"I want to point out that they are critical, accurate; But in a constructive way. "
- What importance does it give to the thesis that was discussed this Tuesday, April 11th?
- It is a thesis that is applied, is a current topic, very important for the development, even economic, of our country, because it leads to optimize problems of diagnosis of diseases in Cuba, which is an eminently agricultural nation and Livestock.
- What do you think of the UCI Doctoral Program?
- It is a program that has opened many young people in this country in various centers. For example, the applicant today comes from a research center in Pinar del Rio.
"It's a program that forms. In the predefined one was talked about how the aspirant has evolved, through the investigation, which adds values, not only from the point of view of research but in a general way.
"It is a program that I believe can aspire to excellence for the conditions it offers, the infrastructure and the knowledge of quality of the staff operating on it as a whole."
