Faculty 1 opens encounter meeting course.
The fourth floor of teaching building 3 was the chosen stage to welcome the students who began this Friday, September 9th, the first Course by Meeting of Engineering in Computer Science that is taught in Faculty 1.
The enrollment is made up of a diversity of students: pre-university graduates, non-university workers and others who start their second career, which includes people of different ages.
At the inauguration, the MSc. Niurvis Legrá Perez, Vice-Dean of Training, spoke on behalf of the Board of Directors and the professors of school 1 that, she said, is premiered in the modality of course by meetings. She also urged them to be proud of joining the large family that the faculty is and striving to get the best grades.
She assured that the group is willing to offer classes of excellence to maintain good teaching results, as is characteristic of the faculty, which also has a vast tradition in the development with quality cultural festivals and sports games, as well as high indicators in research and graduate.
The vice-Dean said: "We are also pleased to occupy the educational building that is the headquarters of most events at the University of Informatics Sciences (known as UCI). We have three Productive Development Centers (CISED, CESOL and CIDI), all with laudable results since their creation, which have provided an incalculable service to Cuban society. "
Classes already started for the students who, in four groups, for five years will receive every Friday the knowledge necessary to graduate as Computer Science Engineers. In the first period they receive the basic subjects of Spanish, Mathematics and History of Cuba, and those of the specialty Introduction to Computer Science and Introduction to Programming.
