This morning there began in School 2 the institutional evaluation requested by the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI)to the Junta Nacional de Acreditación (JAN) or National Accreditation Council of the Ministry of Higher Education.
In the early hours JAN experts from the University of Pedagogical Sciences Enrique José Varona (Ucpejv) and the University of Cienfuegos (UCF), checked the assessment schedule with the Dean of the School and the Dean’s Council members who serve as evaluation managers for the six evaluation variables.
The process continued with the review of documents using the Evaluation Variable 3 that includes the education of the undergraduate professional.
At the end of the morning JAN experts interacted with the academic staff of the Basic Sciences, the Social Sciences and Humanities and the Programming Departments of School 2. They prompted the professors’ reflection on the strengths and weaknesses of the school, among them the analysis of efficiency in the school’s promotion and the methodological work.
The evaluation program foresees in the afternoon session an interchange with senior and advisory teachers; the discussion with workers and students, as well as a meeting with FEU and UJC leaders.
At 5:00 on Thursday afternoon, the specialists will present the preliminary report of the evaluation to the school, said one of the experts from Ucpejv, the computer science professor Miguel Rodríguez Cuervo.
