Arkheia 2.1, the historical archive management system developed by UCI is given credit
Last Friday, November 3, the Office of Historical Affairs of the State Council (OAHCE) acknowledged the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI) for the work on the computerized management of archival documents of the State Council.
During the meeting, Engineer Roberto Soriano Sifontes, leader of the commendable project, in the Computerization Center of Archival Management (Ciged) fromSchool 2 at UCI, presented version 2.1 of the Arkheia Historical Archive Management System.
The young leader gave an explanation about the different modules, and referred to the searching and documents recovery services that Arkheia provides. Soriano made his presentation in front of the OAHCE workers, executives of the Party Central Committee, Infocommunications managers from the Revolution Palace, the National Archive and the Computerization Center of Archival Management (Ciged) of School 2.
On the Day of the Cuban Archivist, the Director of OAHCE, Dr.Sc. Eugenio Suárez Pérez highlighted the efficiency of the system Arkheia 2.1, which allows for the search of documents in all kinds of media, and is already available to users.
Suárez Pérez praised the joint work of UCI specialists, OAHCEarchivists, and the School of Communications from the University of Havana in the preservation of historical archives.
The Office of Historical Affairs of the State Council congratulated in the same way Ciged Center and School 2 for the work so far done and for what remains to be done in the development of other updated versions of Arkheia, as stated by Jorge Luis Aneiros Alonso, Deputy Director of the institution erected as a monument to the work and memory of Celia Sánchez Manduley.
