Mariel Special Development Zone new web portal.
The University of Informatics Sciences (UCI) marked its presence at the 35th Havana International Trade Fair, a suitable space for concerted trade and investment actions, which plays host to around 3 400 exhibitors from more than 70 countries in EXPOCUBA fair exhibition center since last October 30.
Our house of higher studies exhibits the best of the portfolio of products and services, which enhance the sense of this University as a teaching-production center, and a sign of the imprint that it has been leaving during these 15 years.
Last Tuesday, this was the scenario where Ana Teresa Igarza Martínez, General Director of the Mariel Special Development Zone, made the presentation of the new web portal www.zedmariel.com, developed by the Ideoinformatics Center of School 1 from our institution.
Along with this activity, Igarza presented the 12 new projects of the Special Zone as part of the II Investment Forum, with the presence of representatives from Fidas do Brasil SA, Logística Hotelera del Caribe SA, Engimov Caribe SA, Grupo Tot Color SA, Autocentro ZED SA, Cimex Mariel SA, Mariel Solar SA, El Salado SA, Industrias Arthis SA, AEI Cupet Sherritt International SA and Nescor S.A.
The activity was attended by Dr.Sc. Miriam Nicado García, member of the Central Committee of the Party Political Bureau, of the Council of State and UCI Rector; members of the Directorate of Technology and Knowledge Transfer of the University; members of the portal development team; and a representation of our university community.
Regarding the work of our developers Ana Teresa Igarza said:
"We have really fallen in love with the work these guys from UCI have done, with their very fresh minds, with a lot of desire to do, to cooperate, to work. There is no hour or time for them; any time you call them for any task that is given to them, they will be present there without complaints, without hesitation, and I must say it has really been wonderful for us. "
Besides expressing her gratitude for the work on the web portal, the Director of the Special Development Zone recognized the work carried out by the specialists of the Ideoinformatics Center in the social networks of ZED Mariel, stating that these have only been the first steps, as our developers will continue to work on the computerization of the office work.
