The workers of Editorial Future Editions have reasons to celebrate since in October they celebrated the tenth anniversary of this group with the certainty of knowing that they are a reference of scientific production of this house of higher learning.
As part of this anniversary, Mella newspaper talked to Ph.D. Jorge Gulín González, editor in chief and Lic. Raynel Batista Tellez, editorial coordinator of the Cuban Journal of Computer Science (RCCI), who addressed the actions and projections of work of this group carrying out commendable work since its foundation.
Batista Tellez meant that the RCCI is an achievement of the University of Informatics Science (known as UCI) and the country, because training engineers in computer science required also to keep updated graduates publications , and after 2006, when the magazine was founded, this assumes the challenge of going raising the positioning of the major advances of science that has driven in the institution.
He stressed that the magazine aims to have a scientific community of readers to whom it is sent quarterly items to keep it current with major advances in science, and thus also interrelate other contents in eBook format. It is therefore very important to have a publisher that is responsible for bringing this publication, which coexists with the Scientific series which currently is raising its level to achieve certification soon from CITMA .
Meanwhile, Gulín González, editor in chief of the RCCI, stressed that maintaining a scientific journal in the world today is very difficult because it is a very competitive sector where developed countries predominate.
In his words, he mentioned that the fundamental challenge facing this publication is becoming an increasingly internationally recognized magazine. "Right now we have earned a space in Ibero-America what sets us the challenge of having a better-conceived publication with scientific articles of higher quality, with an editorial team who are authorities in their themes, which raises the prestige of our magazine, "he said.
"The fact of being indexed in an important group of databases gives us the impetus to work on a better-designed magazine, with a larger amount of articles in English, which is the international language of science. That is the main objective of our work if we achieve that, we can say that what we set out 10 years ago was fulfilled, "said the chief editor.
With a decade of created and despite resource constraints imposed by the economic blockade against our nation, this group is distinguished by its creative and editorial experience, which is stated in the publication of texts and work of prominent local and national authors.
EditorialFuture Editions treasures in its showcases several awards thanks to all the staff who daily deals with the starting of the publishing house from the University of Information Science.
