The Jose Marti Square at the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI) was the perfect setting on May 2 for a gathering of political reaffirmationto give continuity to our revolutionary process.
UCI, as “Troop of the future”, confirmed its commitment to the Revolution once more this May Day, by stating again a “Yes” for Cuba as they participated in the parade within the group of young marchers, faithful followers of the ideas and the legacy of our Commander Fidel Castro.
The main speech of the gathering was pronounced by Raúl Osvaldo Espinosa Reyes, Secretary General of the Communist Party Committee at the University, who ratified the willingness to remain firm in our principles in the defense of the independence of Cuba. He expressed, on behalf of the whole group, solidarity with the Venezuelan people in the midst of the interventionist wave led by the American empire.
The meeting was attended by Dr Miriam NicadoGarcía, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Party, of the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba and President of UCI; it was also attended by members of the University Council, teachers, workers and students of the institution.
The event was also enlivened by the recitation of Bonifacio Byrne’s poem Mibandera (My flag) ,by the worker of the Free Software Center (Cesol), HanielCáceres, and the song Corazón Universidad, interpreted by Leonardo EloySaavedra, from the Research Center And Internet Development (Cidi).
