UCI presents results in pursuit of computerization
Close to celebrating the 15th Anniversary of the beginning of academic activities at the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI), this September 22nd, there was held in the hall of events in School Building 4 the presentation of most recent results of the work of the University in the process of computerization of the Cuban society.
On this occasion, Juan Manuel Fuentes Rodríguez, Head of the Operating System Development Department of the Free Solutions Center (Cesol) presented the web portal, NOVA, and Yalena Aileth Venega Cañizares, Marketing Advisor, presented six video games developed by the Center of Virtual and Tridimensional Interactive Environment (Vertex): Villa Tesoro (Treasure Village), Escape (Escape), Caos Numérico (Numerical Chaos), Guardián del bosque (Forest Guardian), Equipo 009: La invasión de los pálidos (Team 009: Invasion of the Pale ones) and La neurona 2 (Neuron 2), all available for Android, developed by UCI in association with ICAIC Animation Studies; they were also distributed this summer in Pabellón Cuba in the capital.
Dr. Miriam Nicado García, Rector of this house of higher studies; managers who focus on Information Technology in agencies of the Central Administration of the State, representatives of the Ministry of Communications and members of the University Council were all present at the ceremony.
Likewise, the National Directors of Informatics were invited by the Rector of UCI, to hold their meeting in the first intelligent classroom at UCI, which was developed by the Center of Technologies for Education(Fortes) in collaboration with Gedeme. At this meeting, the executive board made a presentation of the University and its processes.
