Time marvels the path traveled. The future is on the way to excellence, crystallizing the spirit of the thousands of young people who, throughout Cuba, are proud of the ideas of the Revolution. 14 years materializing a dream: Fidel's dream.

Conceived in the heat of the Battle of Ideas and as a futuristic vision of the Commander; On September 23, 2002, opened its classrooms to the whole country  the University of Informatics  Sciences.

Committed and aware of the importance of this colossal task, workers and students joining forces, laid the foundations of our history. The UCI was growing and with it our maturity and commitment.

The challenge proposed by Compañero Fidel, on December 12, 2002 marked the path to transit; The challenge was possible: to evolve in pursuit of excellence.

The training of highly qualified professionals, responsible and committed to the computerization of the society and the development of the software industry; has always  been the mission of this teaching development  center   that  over the course of these 14 years, - with a staff of excellence - has decided to develop an educative and innovative  teaching based on  the  scientific technological growth; Laying on the foundation ideas of the project.

With a training model focused  on professional competences, the engineering degree in Computer Science,integrating  academy, research, production and extension the UCI has graduated more than 14 thousand young people from all over the country; Who, exercising the profession with proven ability, honor the vision of Fidel and prestige this campus of international reference.

Consistent with the Cuban and the world reality, the UCI is a software industry intra-university , becoming  itself into a strength within the scientific and technological field of knowledge.

Countless moments magnify the book of our history. Fourteen years of efforts and sacrifices; Of efforts and achievements; Of joys and satisfactions ... unforgettable moments that identify us, distinguish and encourage to be, every day, better professionals; praising  the commitment to the Revolution and especially to Fidel.

The University in its first graduation, with the presence of Raúl Castro, granted the first title of Dr. Honoris Causa to the Commander in Chief, precursor and eternal guide of this: his Tropa de Futuro.

With a great honor we welcome the  actions done during this year  that, with profound social impact permitted us,  to  to celebrate our 14 × 90 journey at the UCI.

With the example of Marti as a light to follow , the strength of Mella: leader of the University Student Federation and the eternal guide of our Commander, the UCI has reaffirmed itself as the vanguard of Cuban youth; Raising the truth, solidarity and patriotism as flags ... working with discipline and constancy and defending, at the price of any sacrifice, the achievements of our Revolution.
