Salvadoran Executive's visit opens up collaboration opportunities

Dr. Erlinda Handal Vega, Vice Minister of Science and Technology of the Republic of El Salvador, visited this institution with the intention of transferring to our University the experiences developed in educational robotics issues.

She was welcomed by Dr. C. Raydel Montesino Perurena, Deputy Rector of this institution, the dean of School 4, Dr. C. Dunia María Colomé Cedeño, and MSc. Delly Lien González Hernández, Director of International Affairs at UCI.

During the exchange developed in the Protocol Room of the School Building José Martí, the vice-minister of the Central American nation highlighted the intention of generating ideas to implement an educational robotics program in our university.

In more than an hour and a half dialogue, the local executives learned of the opportunities that are generated in this branch, which are implemented in youth clubs of different teachings levels in the Republic of El Salvador.

With the confidence of someone who feels like at home, the Salvadoran official, who is visiting the institution for the fifth time, urged UCI executives to develop a program in conjunction with the Enrique José Varona University of Pedagogical Sciences in which the educational and technological parts are integrated.

On the other hand, Montesino Perurena indicated that this exchange comes at the right time when the University of Informatics Sciences is advocating to promote the robotics program in all its dimension.
