MSc. Ernesto Miguel García González, director of University Extension at UCI, read the Resolution concerning the nomination of the room, which School 1 will be in charge of, under the presidency of its dean, MSc. Delly Lien González Hernández.
In her speech, González Hernández expressed the pride for looking after a place that bears Vilma’s name, an unquestionable symbol of the insertion of women in the most unimaginable causes of the Cuban Revolution and the fight against women’s discrimination.
It was Dr.Sc., Mariela Castro who cut the ribbon to declare the opening of the “Vilma Espín” room; there she could witness with great emotion the photo gallery, an APK, and a site made by the students from School 1, among other attraction.
