The Theater of teaching building 3 was the host of the Balance of Science, Technology, and Innovation of the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI) in the context of the day for the Day of Cuban Science.
During the meeting, Ph.D. Raydel Montesino Perurena, Deputy rector of the UCI, presented the most important results of this field in 2016 and made an in-depth analysis of the technical scientific work of this house of high studies. He also said that this institution has maintained leading positions in the scientific field and invited those present to promote doctoral training, foster the environment for research and raise the visibility of scientific publications. In this meeting were recognized professors Zoila Morales, Ramón Santana, Bartolo Zaldívar, Arturo Arellana and José Ramírez who defended their doctoral thesis in this period.
Also, Isabel Gonzalez, Olga Rojas, Mairelis Fernandez, Karel Fernandez, Arturo Orellana, Yoansy López, José Pupo, Yordanis García, deserved the Forjadores del Futuro label that constitutes the main recognition granted by the UJC. This organization also gave the award in the Personality category to Professor Yarina Amoroso.
Also recognized with the Rector´s award for scientific merit to the Integral Management System of Customs, the Center for Computerization of Entities; The GNU-Linux-NOVA distribution, from the Free Solutions Center; The Integral System of drilling of wells, of the Center of Industrial Informatics; The Platform for the management of imaging information, of the Medical Informatics Center; XAUCE Multievents of the Center of Technologies for the Training; The Model for the protection of templates of minutiae of fingerprints, of the Center of Identification and Digital Security; The Model for the detection of variability in hospital processes applying techniques of process mining, of the Medical Informatics Center.
Besides it was recognized the Integrated System of Statistical Management of the Center for Data Management Technologies; The Decision Management System for the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, the Center for Electronic Government; To the Information Platform PRIMICIA, of the Center for Data Management Technologies; To the Management System of Clinical Trials XAVIA Clinics, Center of Medical Informatics; The Research Group on Scientific Computing, the Center for Data Management Technologies and the Process Mining Research Group, the Medical Informatics Center; The Center for Studies in Computational Mathematics and the Center for Medical Informatics. On the other hand, the University Council gave special recognition to Ph.D. Jorge Gullín González for his outstanding scientific and academic trajectory.
To concrete the main results and solutions were the fundamental premise of the Balance that integrates the scientific and innovative activity of our institution. In addition, it was the moment to reflect on the performance of the professionals of the university and to approve the main objectives for the new period.
The Scientific and Technical Balance in our center was guided by the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, who in December 1993 stated that "this spirit of cooperation that has created this movement, that is Socialism and that should be put In the catechism of Socialism ... cooperation between all scientific centers and scientists who are at the service of a single objective, of a single interest, the interest of the people ... ".
