The CDRs dedicated the special publication of the magazine La Calle to Fidel
The walkers around the park in front of School Building 1 in the Residence area of the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI) noticed something different in the afternoon of this Wednesday 1st, November 2017: the last edition of the magazine La Calle, which the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) print every four months, was being presented there.
Diosmir Batista Santiesban, Secretary of Surveillance, Prevention and Ideology at the Provincial level of the CDR in Havana, and Ana María Lago Caballero, current worker of that directorate and former base leader of the mass organization in the municipality of Boyeros, were in charge of the presentation of Edition 87, dedicated to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, on the occasion of the first anniversary of his physical disappearance.
This publication, which is also called La revista de la gente (The People's Magazine), basically publicizes the work and role of the CDR leaders at all levels, the work of young people, and other topics of general interest related to culture, sports and so forth.
Diosmir Batista explained that they have presented the special edition in centers that have a remarkable youth representation, and that is why they wanted to come to UCI, a university that our Commander in Chief dreamed of, so that young people could excel in the informatics field, an important career nowadays in the world.
“Fidel’s hands, thought, his work and all his action with the young people are present at UCI; therefore, presenting Edition 97 in this emblematic institution has a great significance for us, because it is a special tribute from all the CDR members to the immense leader of the Cuban Revolution, " as Batista claimed.
They also brought La Calle Edition 86, which is dedicated to drugs, and highlights, among other journalistic articles related to the topic, the work done by a young resident in a coastal area.
