Tribute and commitment with the Bolivarian Revolution
A representation of the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI) and of member nations of ALBA bloc gathered in the emblematic Mella Square in order to demonstrate their full support for the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The gathering was chaired by Jorge Arreaza Montserrat, Minister of the Popular Power for the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Foreign Affairs; Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs; Dra. Sc. Miriam Nicado García, Rector of the University of Informatics Sciences; and Marta Ayala Ávila, Deputy General Director of the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. It was an expression of the patriotic feelings of the Cuban people that maintain the firm commitment made with the brother nation.
In her intervention, Eliani Cabrera García, FEU president at UCI, condemned the mass media defamation campaigns carried out against Venezuela and also rejected the interventionist attitude of the US government which seeks to destabilize the South American nation.
The student leader pointed out that the unconventional war against Venezuela has no precedent in history, and reaffirmed the position of the Cuban people against an imperialism that attacks the leftist Latin American countries.
The keynote speech was pronounced by Jorge Arreaza Montserrat, who made a synthesis of the Latin America geopolitical map and also narrated several anecdotes that illustrated the brotherhood relationship between the historical leaders of Cuba and Venezuela.
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister also stated that the two nations are on the right track, on the transit to the paths of socialism inspired by the generations of patriots who gave their lives so that the dream of all the Latin American heroes could become true.
In his speech, Arreaza Montserrat, expressed his gratitude for the solidarity and commitment of the Cuban people with his country and said that both the Bolivarian and the Cuban Revolutions will remain together on the path of freedom under any circumstances.
Songs and poems starred by amateur artists of the center also revealed through culture, the decision to continue the path traced to maintain the prosperous and sustainable socialism that we want to keep on building.
This solidarity gathering with the brotherly people of Venezuela showed that the Latin American revolutions are strengthened in the conscience of our people reaffirming what the work built by Hugo Chavez and his deeds represent for this Cuban generation.
