The University of Informatics Sciences offers the welcome to participants of VI International Winter School
An official welcome this afternoon gave the deputy rector of the University of Informatics Sciences (known as UCI), Ph.D. Raydel Montesino Perurena, to the representation of the more than 830 professionals including four foreigners, enrolled in 15 courses, out of a total of 29, of the VI International Winter School that is starting in this center from this first week.
In his opening remarks, Ph.D. Montesino Perurena outlined the intense activity of undergraduate and postgraduate in the (UCI), said in the five master's programs and the doctorate in computer science, urged the students to take advantage of their staying in this moment of academic exchange and made a parenthesis about the special moment happened this morning in the University, where publicly defended the first plan of study in Cuba of the career of Engineering in Bioinformatics.
The president of the Academic Committee of the International Winter School and head of the Methodological Department of Postgraduate in this institution, Ph.D. Vivian Estrada Sentí announced the general program of the event that will cover 12 thematic lines, among them, computer security, introduction to ontologies and Linux operating system.
For the sixth time, this international postgraduate event, which welcomes 478 participants of this high school, opens the way to educational, intellectual, fellowship and scientific-academic collaboration between various Cuban and foreign institutions.
