The constitution of the 2016-2017 National Council of Cuba's longest-standing organization began at the emblematic Plaza Mella of the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI), with the list of mMartyrs of the University Student Federation (FEU)
This exchange that will take place on January 27th and 28th has a varied agenda that includes work in plenary session, conferences, meetings with the Ministries of Health and Higher Education, participation in the March of the Torches at the capital, Visit to places of historical interest, among other activities.
The meeting was attended by 130 participants from each of the country's universities, including 85 members of the Council, who gave recognition to their integral vanguard and to seven other outstanding students in the fields of sports, culture, research, teaching, The best foreign student, and best Assistant Student.
On behalf of all members of the new FEU National Council, Janet Pupo Estupiñón, president of the University of Medical Sciences of Holguín, read the commitment of these students as faithful followers of the ideas and principles of our Revolution in any battlefield.
This first day of debate evaluated during the morning session, held in the event in teaching building 4, the development of the election process of the FEU in this school year and ideological subversion in Cuban universities in a wide exchange with Ph.D. Abel Enrique González Santamaría, researcher of Inter-American Relations and National Security.
In this important meeting were also present Ronald Hidalgo Rivera and Yanetsy Rodríguez Sampson, second secretary of the National Committee and the member of the National Bureau of the UJC, respectively; Jennifer Bello Martínez, member of the Council of State and national president of FEU; Along with other guests.
During the interventions, students expressed the importance of correcting mistakes, socializing the good practices that are obtained from the most relevant events, analyzing each aspect not achieved at all levels: brigade, faculty and university, listening to all good and Bad criteria , and not to stop taking into account our history, our roots and the great work and the legacy of our glorious and eternal Commander in Chief Fidel Castro.
The afternoon was reserved for the ideological battle in cyberspace in a pleasant talk with the Cuban engineer and journalist Iroel Sánchez, and a session for the analysis of the budget and the fulfillment of the contribution to the homeland of this student organization, in addition to the meeting with the Ministries: Minsap and MES.
In this way the FEU reminded its heroes and martyrs today, the figure of our Apostle on the 164th Anniversary of his birth, which continues with them giving light and sowing dawns of glories, always bearing the homeland in the heart.
